Application of Interferometric Point Target Analysis to Izu-oshima Volcano, Japan
نویسنده
چکیده
The Interferometric Point Target Analysis (IPTA) technique was applied to Izu-Oshima volcano, Japan, using both JERS SAR data from 1992 to 1998 and a 50-meter mesh digital elevation model (DEM) measured in 1981. The caldera region showed significant extension in the radar line-of-sight (LOS) at a maximum rate of 4 cm/yr around the 1986 eruption vent. Also, the DEM turns out be corrected by 10-30 meters. The inferred DEM was applied to ALOS/PALSAR InSAR data measured in 2006. While it succeeded in eliminating the effect of errors in the old DEM, it generated significant residual phases that cannot be attributed to real deformation signal. The signal would be due to changes in topography since 1992-1998, which might be partly explained by thermal contraction effect.

A method for simultaneous velocity and density inversion and its application to exploration of subsurface structure beneath Izu-Oshima volcano, Japan
We have developed a method for three-dimensional simultaneous velocity and density inversion using traveltimes of local earthquakes and gravity data. The purpose of this method is to constrain the velocity inversion and increase the spatial resolution of shallow velocity structures by introducing additional gravity data. The gravity data contributes to the Pand S-wave velocity models by imposin...

Mysidella hoshinoi, a new species from Izu-Oshima Island, Japan (Crustacea, Mysidae, Mysidellinae)
A new mysid, Mysidella hoshinoisp. n. is described from Izu-Oshima Island, Sagami Sea, central Japan. This species differs from its congeners in having a posterodorsal finger-like papilla on the eyestalk, five peculiar spines terminating in plumed seta on outer margin of carpopropodus of endopod of first thoracopod, and uropodal endopod bearing 27 spines on inner margin.
متن کاملPandemic Influenza Virus Surveillance, Izu-Oshima Island, Japan
A population-based influenza surveillance study (using PCR virus subtyping) on Izu-Oshima Island, Japan, found that the cumulative incidence of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 virus infections 2 seasons after the pandemic was highest for those 10-14 years of age (43.1%). No postpandemic A(H1N1)pdm09 case-patients had been infected with A(H1N1)pdm09 virus during the pandemic season.
متن کاملElectric and magnetic phenomena observed before the volcano-seismic activity in 2000 in the Izu Island Region, Japan.
Significant anomalous changes in the ultra low frequency range (approximately 0.01 Hz) were observed in both geoelectric and geomagnetic fields before the major volcano-seismic activity in the Izu Island region, Japan. The spectral intensity of the geoelectric potential difference between some electrodes on Niijima Island and the third principal component of geomagnetic field variations at an a...
